We’re in Rome! Safe and sound and checked into our hotel.
8Nov2008 Filed under: Rome Author: Paul Posted at 12:36 amExpect a lot of pictures of us eating pizza and rooting around in garbage cans for leftovers because it is expensive here! Good thing it is in euros so it looks like monopoly money.
Will post more later, now we’re going to check out some good stuff. I think there are supposed to be some sort of colliseum and ruins or something in rome, who knew?

One little tip when visiting the Vatican Museum. Get there early before it opens. The line to get in goes crazy if you show up later. Make a beeline for the Sistine chapel because that’s normally the last place to see if you follow the path through the Museum. That way to you can enjoy the chapel without feeling like a can a packed sardines. There is so much detail inside it’s so amazing. My favorite is Michelangelo’s Last Judgement and some of the grotesque figures in the painting.

Jamie – so far so good! I think we’re walking so much that all this eating hasn’t affected us at all. Either that or our clothes are just stretching out slowly haha.
Bob – we’re gonna try and go on Wednseday to Vatican I think! We’ll get there at 2am and camp out in front.
